Narrative

Narrative for Final Images

My narrative is based on generic horror movie themes such as IT, Silent Hill, Slender man and Chucky the idea is that each print is a room of a horror house where the residence are creatures similar to the movies and games I have just mentioned, the images will have to be placed In a certain order to make a single big final peace representing a building. Each room will have a different theme to compliment the characters in the images, for example for a clown I was thinking of introducing some dark disturbing toys such as dolls with no eyes, rusted rocking horses, parts of soft toys and so on. The narrative will be introduced in an image of a scared group or single child creeping up some old wooden stairs as if been dared to enter a by friends which is a stereo typical scary movie starting point. I chose this idea due to the variety of visuals that can be created , this will allow me to incorporate many of the skills I have learnt in the past year  like HDR,  film grain, silhouette and feathering, my concept is designed to shock so there will  be areas where I will be venturing into a dangerous area possibly crossing the line on what’s too far such as dead children partially clad corpses and scenes of a very twisted violent nature.
I am not yet sure how many images will be included in this series, 4 will be a good amount but ideally 6 will make the narrative stronger. The characters will consist of my interpretation of a clown psychopath, slender man, dark un dead nurse and 2 others which I have not decided yet  (needs more research).
Considerations for this shoot would be the way I wish to create the images as if the image takes away one hole wall of a room therefore on the boarder I will need to find a way to create the inside of walls and floors/ceilings, for this I reckon I will have to design and build a mini scale wall out of materials, shoot the fake wall then photo shop the walls onto the walls of the room and underneath the floor boards. The main issue with this shoot is to locate the best setting; this will ideally be an abandoned house with paint flaking walls and old wooden floorboards, this will be hard to find because of the lack of abandoned buildings that can be infiltrated safely and legally I may be able to recreate this in a normal room using Photoshop but it may lack the authenticity and quality of the real deal.
I have come across a company in Plymouth that you can put a deposit down on a vast range of props, which will fit in well with my shoots.
